Atlassian's JIRA keeps you up to date on an issue by providing the comments from your teammates and stakeholders. Thus improving collaboration and time, but this is known already.

What can make that better? The IntelliJ IDEA JIRA notification add-on.

With IntelliJ IDEA's JIRA notification add-on, made by Addteq, IntelliJ IDEA will now show you relevant notifications right in your development environment. You’ll still receive the information you care about most but – and here’s the good part – you’ll receive the most recent insight right there in your development environment. No need to check your email or go back to JIRA, to make sure that you did not miss any updates on the ticket you are working on before you are too late.

Notification at right top corner shows you the recent comments on the JIRA ticket under progress.

Clicking on the notification takes the user to the JIRA comment.

How does it work ?

Developer checkout a branch in her development environment git repository which apparently is the JIRA ticket number as well. Idea plugin gets the JIRA ticket number from git branch name and pulls the recent comment from your JIRA environment configured. Comment pulled from JIRA has been shown in the form of Notification.
